SDSU Research Foundation is hiring a part-time DUIP Counselor/Instructor in San Diego, San Diego County, to deliver compassionate, trauma-informed support to participants enrolled in the Driving Under the Influence Program (DUIP).
About the Role
As a DUIP Counselor/Instructor with SDSU Research Foundation, you will work under direct supervision to guide program participants through their recovery and education journey. The position centers on applying trauma-informed counseling approaches while helping individuals meet the requirements of the Driving Under the Influence Program. This San Diego–based opportunity is well suited to caring professionals who value both the physical and emotional well-being of the people they serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general counseling services to participants in the Driving Under the Influence Program (DUIP).
- Apply trauma-informed counseling strategies that promote participant safety, dignity, and progress.
- Support the physical and emotional well-being of program participants throughout their enrollment.
- Carry out counseling and instructional duties under direct supervision in accordance with program standards.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with trauma-informed counseling principles and practices.
- Ability to work effectively under direct supervision within a structured program setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging diverse participants.
- Commitment to participant well-being and to the goals of the Driving Under the Influence Program.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $22.00 – $25.75 per hour, determined by qualifications. This rate is non-negotiable.
