Corrosion Technician (Level I–III)

Plains Marketing is hiring a full-time Corrosion Technician (Level I–III) in Midland, Midland County, to help safeguard the integrity of crude oil pipeline and midstream infrastructure across one of the nation's most active producing regions.

About the Role

As a Corrosion Technician (Level I–III) based in Midland, you will play a hands-on part in protecting the pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage, and gathering assets that move crude oil through key producing basins and market hubs. This position spans entry-level through advanced responsibilities, so candidates at varying experience levels are encouraged to apply and grow within the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, test, and maintain cathodic protection and corrosion control systems on pipelines and related midstream facilities.
• Collect and record field readings, document inspection results, and support regulatory compliance reporting.
• Troubleshoot corrosion-related issues and recommend or perform corrective actions to preserve asset integrity.
• Work safely in the field across terminalling, storage, and gathering sites, following established safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with operations and integrity teams to prioritize maintenance and prevention activities.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in corrosion control, cathodic protection, or a related technical field, scaled to Level I, II, or III responsibilities.
• Familiarity with pipeline or midstream operations is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail for field measurements, data recording, and documentation.
• Ability to work independently in outdoor field conditions and travel to sites within the Midland area.
• Commitment to safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
