The University of Central Florida is seeking a driven Post Doctoral Scholar to join the DISCOVER Laboratory in Orlando, Orange County, and advance the frontier of digital-twin infrastructure science.
About the Role
This full-time, on-site Post Doctoral Scholar position is based within the Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering at the University of Central Florida. You will contribute to the DISCOVER (Digital-Twin Infrastructure Science for Operations and Visualization in Engineering Resilience) Laboratory, supporting research that blends civil engineering with digital-twin modeling, visualization, and infrastructure resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct postdoctoral research within the DISCOVER Laboratory's digital-twin infrastructure program.
- Develop and apply methods for engineering resilience, operations, and visualization across civil and construction systems.
- Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and research partners on lab projects and objectives.
- Document findings and contribute to scholarly publications and technical reports.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- A motivated, self-directed approach to research and problem-solving.
- Interest in digital-twin technology, infrastructure science, and engineering resilience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborative, team-based research.
