About the Role
As an EHS Specialist at Amazon's Minooka, Grundy County operation, you'll support the company's goal of becoming the global standard for workplace safety. Also recognized as a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS), you'll partner with site leaders and associates to strengthen safety culture across one of the most fast-paced operating environments anywhere. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Grundy County, Illinois.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a proactive safety culture and help drive Amazon toward its ambition of being Earth's safest place to work.
- Identify workplace hazards, assess risk, and recommend practical corrective measures.
- Coach associates and managers on safe work practices and environmental health standards.
- Support compliance with applicable occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Track safety performance, contribute to incident reviews, and help implement continuous improvements.
Qualifications
- Background or demonstrated knowledge in environmental health and safety (EHS) or workplace health and safety.
- Ability to evaluate operational areas, spot risks, and influence others toward safer behavior.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across all levels of a busy operation.
- Commitment to upholding rigorous safety standards in a dynamic, high-volume setting.
- Willingness to work on-site full-time in Minooka, Grundy County.
