Research Technologist – Biobank

About the Role

As a Research Technologist - Biobank at Mayo Clinic, you will play a hands-on part in collecting, processing, cataloging, and safeguarding biological samples that fuel groundbreaking studies. Based on-site in Rochester, Olmsted County, this role places you at the intersection of laboratory science and patient-centered research, ensuring that every specimen is handled with precision, integrity, and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and prepare biological specimens for long-term storage within the biobank.
• Accurately label, track, and document samples to maintain reliable inventory and chain-of-custody records.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, following established safety and quality protocols.
• Support research teams by retrieving and distributing samples in accordance with study requirements.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and standard operating procedures across all laboratory activities.

Qualifications

• Background or training in a laboratory, biological, or life sciences discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in documentation and sample handling.
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques, equipment, and good laboratory practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a research-focused, team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to work on-site full-time in Rochester, Olmsted County.
