Head Custodian

Boerne Independent School District is hiring a dedicated Head Custodian to lead campus custodial operations in Boerne, Kendall County, Texas. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for an organized facilities professional who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming school environments.

About the Role

As the Head Custodian within Custodial Services, you will oversee the day-to-day upkeep of your assigned campus while guiding a team of custodial staff. Reporting to both the Assistant Director of Custodial Services and the Campus Principal, you'll play a central part in keeping district facilities ready for students, teachers, and visitors every school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the cleaning, sanitizing, and general maintenance of campus buildings and grounds.
• Lead, schedule, and support custodial team members to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
• Monitor supplies, equipment, and cleaning materials, requesting replenishment as needed.
• Help maintain a secure environment by following opening, closing, and safety procedures.
• Respond promptly to facility needs and partner with campus leadership on building readiness.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance work.
• Ability to lead a team and organize daily tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, equipment, and materials.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to school cleanliness and safety.
• Directly related experience may be considered when supported by an official service record.

Position Details

• Employment type: Full-time, 261 workdays per year
• Classification: Non-exempt, At-Will
• Pay grade: AU03 — starting at $16.50 per hour, with a mid-point of $19.80 per hour
• Funding: Locally funded position
• Location: Boerne, Kendall County, Texas (on-site)
