About the Role

As a Stationary Engineer (Union) on the NSS team, you will operate, monitor, and maintain the mechanical systems that keep mission-critical facilities running safely and efficiently. This position is based in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, and is part of a union workforce supporting federal operations. NSS is a joint venture between Wolf Creek Federal Services, Inc.—a wholly owned subsidiary of Chugach Government Solutions, LLC—and Amentum Technology, Inc.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee boilers, HVAC equipment, pumps, and related stationary mechanical systems.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and adjustments to ensure reliable performance.
• Monitor system gauges, controls, and instrumentation, responding promptly to irregularities.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate operating logs and follow all safety, environmental, and union work standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining stationary engineering equipment such as boilers and HVAC systems.
• Relevant licensing or certification as required for stationary engineers in Orleans Parish or the state of Louisiana.
• Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to read gauges, controls, and technical documentation.
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance in a federal facility environment.
• Willingness to work on-site in New Orleans as part of a union team.
