About the Role

As a Rubber Process Development Chemist at Tarkett, you will play a central part in advancing the science behind our Middlefield facility, which specializes in rubber molding and extrusion. Your work will center on creating new products, refining existing processes, and tailoring formulations to meet evolving performance and production goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance rubber compounds and the methods used to process them.
  • Drive new product and process development efforts for molding and extrusion operations.
  • Optimize and customize formulation and mixing parameters to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to troubleshoot processing challenges and validate improvements.
  • Support the transition of laboratory developments into full-scale production at the Middlefield plant.

Qualifications

  • A background in chemistry, polymer science, materials science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of rubber formulation, compounding, mixing, molding, and extrusion principles.
  • A practical, problem-solving mindset suited to a hands-on manufacturing environment.
