Lake County Schools Consortium is hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support student communication and language development within Community High School District 117 in the United States.
About the Role
As a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) with Lake County Schools Consortium, you will work under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver therapy services that help students build stronger speech, language, and communication skills. This on-site support staff position is based at Community High School District 117 and plays a meaningful part in students' academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out speech and language therapy activities as planned and supervised by a certified Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Assist students individually and in small groups to reinforce communication goals.
- Prepare therapy materials and maintain a supportive, organized learning environment.
- Track student progress and document session outcomes to inform ongoing care.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and district staff to align support with each student's needs.
Qualifications
- Appropriate credentials or certification to serve as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in accordance with state and district requirements.
- Willingness to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for working with students of varying needs.
- Dependability, patience, and a genuine commitment to student growth.
- Availability for a full-time, in-person schedule at Community High School District 117.
