Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation is seeking a seasoned, forward-thinking attorney to step into the role of Associate General Counsel – Governance and Transactions Practice Group, supporting one of the nation's leading health care organizations from the United States.
About the Role
As Associate General Counsel within the Advocate Health Legal Department, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor on corporate governance matters and a broad range of strategic transactions. This full-time position (40 hours per week, benefits eligible) sits within the Enterprise Corporate Legal Department and partners closely with leadership to guide complex business and legal decisions across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on corporate governance practices, board and entity matters, and organizational compliance.
- Structure, negotiate, and document a variety of corporate transactions on behalf of the organization.
- Provide proactive, practical legal counsel to internal business partners and executive stakeholders.
- Identify legal risks and craft solutions that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Legal Department and broader enterprise functions.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law.
- Demonstrated experience advising on governance and transactional legal matters, ideally within a corporate or health care setting.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical capabilities.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and sound, business-minded judgment.
