About the Role

As a Workers' Compensation Applicant Attorney based in Sacramento, you will represent claimants pursuing benefits after on-the-job injuries. This is an on-site, full-time opportunity with a long-standing plaintiff's firm that is expanding its caseload and looking to add an attorney who can manage matters from intake through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Advocate on behalf of injured employees throughout the workers' compensation claims process.
• Manage a portfolio of applicant-side cases, guiding each one from initial filing to settlement or hearing.
• Prepare and argue matters before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.
• Draft pleadings, conduct depositions, and handle negotiations with defense counsel and insurers.
• Counsel clients on their rights, benefits, and the progress of their claims.

Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Experience handling workers' compensation matters, ideally on the applicant or plaintiff side.
• Familiarity with California workers' compensation law and Appeals Board procedure.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
• A client-centered approach and a commitment to securing fair outcomes for injured workers.
