About the Role

As the Lead Engineer in Grand Central, Manhattan, you will serve as the central point of accountability for the building, its grounds, and the entire physical plant. Your focus spans safety, security, and asset protection, while you also guide budgeting, long-term capital planning, and energy efficiency. You will shape and execute strategies that keep systems reliable and deliver consistent results for tenants and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the upkeep of the building, grounds, and physical plant, with a strong emphasis on safety, security, and protecting valuable assets.
• Own and manage the operating budget, tracking expenditures and identifying opportunities for cost control.
• Plan and direct capital expenditure projects from concept through completion.
• Build and run preventative maintenance programs that minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Drive energy conservation efforts and put measurable efficiency strategies into practice.
• Develop and implement operational plans that translate goals into dependable day-to-day performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading building engineering or facilities operations, ideally within a large commercial property.
• Solid command of physical plant systems, preventative maintenance practices, and safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and oversee capital projects.
• Working knowledge of energy conservation methods and efficiency improvements.
• Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the availability to work on-site in Manhattan.
