Windsor Independent Living Association (WILA) is hiring a full-time Individual Vocation professional in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut, to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities pursue meaningful, person-centered employment and community participation.

About the Role

As an Individual Vocation team member based in Windsor, you will work one-on-one with adults who have intellectual or developmental disabilities, supporting them as they build vocational skills, explore work opportunities, and take part more fully in the life of their community. This on-site, full-time position is well suited to someone who is patient, dependable, and motivated by helping others reach their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized vocational guidance and hands-on coaching tailored to each person's abilities and aspirations.
• Encourage skill development, independence, and active engagement in work and community settings.
• Support participants in becoming integrated, respected contributors within their local community.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support networks to advance each individual's goals.
• Document progress and uphold WILA's standards for safe, respectful, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• A genuine commitment to advocating for and empowering adults with developmental disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Reliability, compassion, and the ability to adapt support to each individual's needs.
• Willingness to work on-site in Windsor, Hartford County, on a full-time basis.
