S&B Houston is hiring a Senior Construction Manager in Houston, TX to lead field execution on complex engineering and construction projects from groundbreaking through completion.
About the Role
As a Sr. Construction Manager with S&B Houston, you will own the on-site direction of field construction efforts, keeping work safe, on schedule, and aligned with project goals. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, TX. On select assignments, you may also step into overall project leadership, taking on the responsibilities typically held by a Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate all field construction activities, providing day-to-day management across the project lifecycle.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and project requirements on site.
- Track progress against schedule and budget, anticipating issues and resolving field challenges quickly.
- Lead and support craft teams, subcontractors, and field supervisors to deliver dependable results.
- When assigned as the project lead, assume the broader duties of the Project Manager, including overall accountability for project outcomes.
- Serve as a key point of contact between the field, engineering, procurement, and client stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing field construction on industrial, EPC, or similarly complex projects.
- Proven ability to lead crews and coordinate multiple trades through to project completion.
- Solid command of construction methods, scheduling, safety standards, and quality control.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills suited to a fast-moving field environment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Houston, TX.
