About the Role
The Communication Specialist is a full-time, on-site position based in Eagle River, Anchorage. In this role, you will craft compelling content and narratives for a portfolio of assigned programs at Catholic Social Services. Acting as both a subject-matter resource and a bridge between program teams and the communications department, you will shape messaging, support outreach campaigns, and bring the voices of those we serve to a wider audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop original content and stories for the programs assigned to you, translating their work into engaging, audience-ready material.
- Serve as a topic expert who understands the goals, impact, and details of each program you support.
- Act as the connecting point between individual programs and the communications function, coordinating planning and campaign efforts.
- Build trusting relationships with clients and guests in order to amplify their experiences and share their stories with respect and care.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure messaging stays consistent, accurate, and aligned with the organization's mission.
Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities with an eye for clear, engaging communication.
- Comfort working closely with program staff, clients, and guests to gather and shape authentic stories.
- Ability to manage multiple programs and campaign priorities while collaborating across departments.
- A genuine interest in mission-driven, community-focused work and the people Catholic Social Services serves.
