About the Role
As an RN - PCU at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, you will monitor and treat patients who require a higher level of observation than a standard medical-surgical unit but who are not critically ill enough for intensive care. Working alongside our care team in Lafayette, Cumberland County, you'll bring clinical judgment, compassion, and steady focus to every shift. This position is open to qualified travel nurses partnering with GetMed Staffing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care for patients on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
- Continuously monitor patient status, including cardiac rhythms and vital signs, and respond promptly to changes.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while following established protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, fellow nurses, and support staff to coordinate effective patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on care plans, recovery, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation in the patient record.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant nursing experience.
- Demonstrated competency in progressive or intermediate care nursing.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Willingness to work full-time on-site in Lafayette, Cumberland County.
