Litigation Associate Attorney

Orion Placement is hiring a full-time Litigation Associate Attorney in Washington, D.C., to join a nationally recognized law firm with nearly five decades of experience where business, government, environmental, and energy matters intersect.

About the Role

As a Litigation Associate Attorney based in Washington, D.C., you will step into substantive, high-stakes litigation work from day one. This is an on-site opportunity with a firm whose practice is shaped by genuine legal complexity and outcomes that carry real consequences for clients operating across regulated industries. Rather than waiting on the sidelines, you will collaborate closely with seasoned attorneys and contribute directly to active matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and advance litigation matters spanning business, government, environmental, and energy disputes.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and related case filings.
• Partner with senior litigators and clients on case strategy and case development.
• Take ownership of meaningful responsibilities early in your tenure rather than remaining in a support-only capacity.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, discovery, and other phases of the litigation lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law and admission in good standing (D.C. bar admission or eligibility expected).
• Litigation experience and a demonstrated ability to handle complex, high-stakes matters.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical capabilities.
• Willingness to work on-site in Washington, D.C., and take on significant responsibility early.

Compensation

• Annual salary range of $175,000 to $185,000, commensurate with experience.
