Adjunct Instructor – Music & Technology

Stevens Institute of Technology is seeking an Adjunct Instructor in Music & Technology to join the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) in Hoboken, Hudson County, beginning with the fall 2026 semester.

About the Role

This full-time, on-campus adjunct appointment with the Program in Music & Technology centers on teaching HMU 310 Orchestration I. As an Adjunct Instructor at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, you will guide students through the foundations of orchestration while contributing to a dynamic, technology-driven arts curriculum within the HASS school.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare, and update the course syllabus for HMU 310 Orchestration I.
• Deliver instruction for all assigned class sessions in an engaging, student-focused manner.
• Attend and lead every scheduled meeting of the course throughout the semester.
• Support student learning and progress within the Program in Music & Technology.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in orchestration and music theory appropriate to teaching HMU 310 Orchestration I.
• A background in music, music technology, composition, or a closely related discipline.
• Prior teaching experience at the college level is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to student success in a collegiate setting.
