About the Role

As the EHV Transmission Construction Representative, you will serve as the owner's on-site eyes and ears, monitoring contractor performance throughout the construction of extra-high-voltage transmission lines and substations. Your primary mission is to confirm that every phase of work meets contractual obligations, engineering specifications, and rigorous safety expectations across the electric transmission system.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day contractor activities on transmission line and substation construction sites in and around Charleston, Kanawha County.
• Verify that completed work aligns with contract terms, drawings, and approved specifications.
• Champion safe work practices and help ensure compliance with applicable safety standards.
• Document field progress, identify deviations, and communicate issues to project stakeholders.
• Support coordination between the owner, contractors, and project teams to keep work on schedule.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of electric utility construction, including transmission lines and substations.
• Proven ability to evaluate contractor performance and enforce contract compliance.
• Solid understanding of construction safety requirements in a high-voltage environment.
• Effective communication, documentation, and field-coordination skills.
• Willingness to work on-site at project locations in Charleston, Kanawha County (this is not a remote position).
