About the Role
This full-time Adjunct Faculty, Public Health - LEAP Program position centers on teaching online synchronous Public Health 101 sections to high school students participating in La Salle University's dual enrollment pathway. The majority of sections meet in the early morning Eastern time, giving instructors a structured, predictable weekly cadence while engaging students new to the discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead live, online synchronous Public Health 101 classes for dual-enrolled high school students.
- Teach scheduled morning sections, typically 8:00–8:50 a.m. EST or 9:00–9:45 a.m. EST.
- Deliver instruction on Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Monday/Tuesday/Thursday rotations, depending on the section assigned.
- Introduce foundational public health concepts in an accessible, age-appropriate way for emerging college learners.
- Support students through the academic expectations of an introductory university course.
Qualifications
- A graduate-level credential in public health or a closely related discipline (per the program's required qualifications).
- Comfort teaching in a live, online synchronous virtual classroom environment.
- Availability to commit to scheduled early-morning Eastern time sections.
- An ability to connect with and motivate high school students taking a first college course.
