About the Role
As an AI/ML Scientist focused on protein foundation models at Manifold Bio, you will develop and train large-scale models that learn the rules of protein structure and function. Your work will sit at the intersection of deep learning and experimental biology, drawing on uniquely rich in vivo datasets to guide the design of tissue-targeted therapies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, train, and refine foundation models for protein sequence and structure prediction.
- Translate massively multiplexed in vivo screening results into high-quality training signals.
- Apply model outputs to propose and prioritize novel protein designs for experimental validation.
- Collaborate closely with laboratory and platform teams to close the loop between prediction and measurement.
- Advance the methods, infrastructure, and evaluation practices that scale protein machine learning.
Qualifications
- Strong background in machine learning, with hands-on experience building and training deep neural networks.
- Familiarity with protein modeling, computational biology, or related life-science domains.
- Proficiency with modern ML frameworks and large-scale model development.
- Ability to work with large, complex biological datasets and reason rigorously about results.
- A collaborative mindset suited to a cross-disciplinary, fast-moving research environment.
