Applied Scientist, SPX AI Lab

Amazon is hiring an Applied Scientist for the SPX AI Lab, a full-time, on-site role based in International, King County, where you will help shape the next generation of generative AI tools that transform how sellers grow their businesses.

About the Role

As an Applied Scientist on the SPX AI Lab team, you will contribute to Amazon Seller Assistant — a GenAI-first, multi-agent platform built to rethink the seller experience from the ground up. The goal is ambitious: deliver every seller a proactive, autonomous assistant that genuinely understands their business, anticipates what they need, surfaces meaningful insights, and takes action on their behalf to simplify the often-complex work of selling. This position is located in International, King County, and is not a remote role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine machine learning and generative AI models that power autonomous, agentic seller experiences.
• Develop multi-agent systems capable of reasoning over seller data, identifying opportunities, and resolving issues with minimal human intervention.
• Translate research into production-ready solutions that anticipate seller needs and proactively surface actionable recommendations.
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and fellow scientists to move ideas from prototype to large-scale deployment.
• Stay current with advances in large language models and agentic AI, applying them to real-world seller challenges.

Qualifications

• Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, or applied research, ideally with experience in generative AI or large language models.
• Proficiency in building and evaluating models, with solid software and experimentation skills.
• Ability to work with multi-agent or autonomous systems and translate complex problems into scalable solutions.
• Collaborative mindset and clear communication across technical and non-technical teams.
• Willingness to work on-site in International, King County.
