The College of the Sequoias Community College District invites passionate educators to join our Part-Time Adjunct Faculty Pool in Ethnic Studies in Visalia, Tulare County. This ongoing pool helps us identify qualified instructors who are ready to inspire and support a richly diverse student body.

About the Role

As an Adjunct Faculty member in Ethnic Studies, you will teach courses that explore the histories, cultures, and contributions of diverse communities while supporting student success at one of California's designated Hispanic Serving Institutions. Applicants accepted into this pool are considered as part-time teaching needs arise across the District's transfer and general education programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, inclusive instruction in Ethnic Studies courses aligned with District curriculum and learning outcomes.
• Foster an equitable, welcoming classroom environment for learners from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Prepare lessons, assess student work, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Support students pursuing transfer, general education, career, and technical goals.
• Contribute to the District's commitment to diversity, equity, and the broader community college mission.

Qualifications

• Meet the minimum qualifications established for teaching Ethnic Studies at a California community college.
• Demonstrated understanding of and dedication to the community college mission.
• Sensitivity to and appreciation for the diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
• Commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching practices.
