Contracts Specialist – Senior/Expert

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is hiring a Contracts Specialist - Senior/Expert to join our acquisition team on-site in Chantilly, Fairfax County. This full-time role places you at the center of the contracting work that powers America's space-based intelligence enterprise.

About the Role

As a Contracts Specialist - Senior/Expert with the NRO in Chantilly, Fairfax County, you will manage the full lifecycle of contracts that support the development, acquisition, launch, and operation of the nation's reconnaissance satellite systems. This is an on-site position; remote work is not available. The role calls for seasoned contracting judgment and a commitment to advancing mission-critical national security programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, negotiation, award, and administration of complex contracts supporting NRO space programs.
• Apply senior-level expertise to procurement strategy, source selection, and contract structuring.
• Ensure all contracting actions comply with applicable federal acquisition regulations and agency policy.
• Partner with program managers, technical staff, and stakeholders to align contracts with mission objectives.
• Oversee contract performance, modifications, and closeout activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
• Provide expert guidance on contractual risk, terms, and resolution of contract-related issues.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated senior or expert-level experience in government or federal contracting.
• Strong working knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and procurement processes.
• Proven ability to negotiate and administer complex, high-value contracts.
• Eligibility to meet the requirements for a position with the NRO.
• Ability to work on-site in Chantilly, Fairfax County.
