David Yurman is seeking a full-time CAD Designer to join our product development team in Grand Central, Manhattan, helping translate artistic vision into precise, production-ready jewelry models.
About the Role
As a CAD Designer at David Yurman, you will sit at the intersection of artistry and engineering, building accurate three-dimensional models that bring fine jewelry concepts to life. Working on-site in Grand Central, Manhattan, you will partner closely with designers, gemologists, and production specialists to ensure every piece is both beautiful and manufacturable.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models for jewelry collections using industry-standard design software.
- Convert hand sketches, design briefs, and creative direction into technically sound, production-ready files.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to refine proportions, settings, and structural integrity.
- Prepare files for prototyping, rendering, and casting while maintaining tight tolerances.
- Iterate on models based on feedback to balance aesthetic intent with practical fabrication requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience creating CAD models, ideally within fine jewelry or a related craft discipline.
- Proficiency with jewelry CAD tools and a strong grasp of 3D modeling workflows.
- A keen eye for detail, proportion, and craftsmanship.
- Ability to interpret artistic concepts and turn them into accurate technical files.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across teams.
- Availability to work full-time, on-site at our Grand Central, Manhattan location.
