Facility Maintenance Engineer

Continental Western Group, a Berkley company, is hiring a full-time Facility Maintenance Engineer in Urbandale, Polk County, to keep our workplace running safely, efficiently, and comfortably every day.

About the Role

As the Facility Maintenance Engineer based in Urbandale, you will be the hands-on steward of our building systems and physical environment. This on-site, full-time position is central to ensuring that employees, visitors, and independent agents experience a well-maintained, professional, and dependable facility. You will diagnose issues, complete repairs, and partner with vendors to keep operations seamless.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs across building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve facility issues with minimal disruption to daily operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and code-compliant environment, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service vendors, overseeing scheduled work and verifying quality.
• Track maintenance activities, equipment performance, and supplies to support reliable building operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facility, building, or maintenance engineering, with practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently on a variety of repair and upkeep tasks.
• A safety-first mindset and familiarity with relevant building codes and standards.
• Reliable, organized, and responsive, with solid communication skills for coordinating across teams and vendors.
• Availability to work on-site in Urbandale, Polk County, in this full-time role.
