About the Role

As a 2nd Shift PM Mechanic with Waste Connections in Aurora, IL, you'll partner closely with our Maintenance team to perform preventive maintenance and accurate diagnostics across our truck fleet and supporting equipment. Working the second shift, you'll play a central part in minimizing downtime and ensuring every vehicle that leaves our yard meets strict safety and reliability standards. Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on trucks, trailers, and related fleet equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues safely and accurately, then complete dependable, timely repairs.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance team to keep the fleet operational throughout the 2nd shift.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized shop environment.
• Document inspections, repairs, and service records thoroughly.

Qualifications

• Practical experience maintaining and repairing trucks, fleet vehicles, or heavy equipment.
• Strong diagnostic skills with a consistent commitment to working safely.
• Availability to work the 2nd shift on a full-time basis in Aurora, Illinois (on-site; this is not a remote role).
• A leadership-oriented attitude and genuine interest in growing into expanded responsibilities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a Maintenance team.
