About the Role
As a Program Assistant supporting youth programs, you will be a trusted, caring presence for the children in our care. The position centers on forming positive, supportive connections with kids while partnering closely with parents, caregivers, fellow staff, and community partners. You will help advance the Y's mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility right here in Reseda.
Key Responsibilities
- Build warm, encouraging relationships with children to foster a safe and welcoming program environment.
- Communicate and collaborate cooperatively with parents, caregivers, and families.
- Work alongside program staff and community partners to deliver high-quality youth activities.
- Champion and reinforce the Y's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Support the daily operation and promotion of youth development programming.
Qualifications
- A genuine passion for working with and mentoring children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging families, staff, and partners.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach to delivering youth programs.
- Commitment to the values and mission of the YMCA.
- Availability for a full-time, on-site schedule in Reseda, Los Angeles County.
