Unity Technologies is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Feature Platform in Mountain View, Santa Clara County to architect the data and serving infrastructure behind one of the world's largest advertising platforms.

About the Role

Unity's Ads organization runs systems that operate at enormous global scale, linking advertisers with the creators and players who make up our ecosystem. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Feature Platform team, you will design and own the foundational infrastructure that fuels machine learning, performance, and reliability across our advertising stack. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role for someone who wants their technical decisions to shape products used worldwide. This position is based on-site in Mountain View, California.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and maintain the feature platform that powers Unity's advertising systems.
• Deliver infrastructure capable of supporting high throughput, low latency, and dependable performance at global scale.
• Drive the technical direction of the Feature Platform team, setting standards for design and engineering quality.
• Partner with data, machine learning, and product engineering teams to surface the signals that improve advertising outcomes.
• Mentor fellow engineers and raise the bar for reliability, observability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems or data infrastructure.
• Deep proficiency in backend software engineering, with a track record of shipping production systems at scale.
• Strong grasp of performance, reliability, and the trade-offs involved in serving infrastructure.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, including influencing architecture and guiding other engineers.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
