Heaven and Hire Recruiting is searching for a Senior AI Engineer – LLMs & Backend Systems to become a founding member of an ambitious startup team in San Francisco, California. About the Role
As a Senior AI Engineer at Heaven and Hire Recruiting, you will sit at the heart of a small, high-impact engineering group tasked with conceiving, building, and shipping a multi-agent AI platform. This is a hands-on, full-time position in San Francisco where your decisions on architecture, large language model integration, and backend infrastructure will directly define the trajectory of the product and the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop a multi-agent AI system, from early prototypes through production launch.
- Engineer reliable backend services that support LLM-driven workflows at scale.
- Integrate, fine-tune, and evaluate large language models for real-world performance.
- Contribute to foundational technical choices as one of the earliest engineers on the team.
- Collaborate closely with founders and core staff to translate vision into shipped features.
Qualifications
- Proven, senior-level experience building and deploying production backend systems.
- Strong working knowledge of large language models and modern AI tooling.
- Comfort operating in an early-stage, fast-moving startup environment.
- Ability to own complex problems end to end and deliver under ambiguity.
- Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco, California.
Compensation & Support
- Salary range of $200,000–$400,000.
- Equity grant of 0.5%–3%.
- Relocation assistance available.
- Visa sponsorship available for most types.
