About the Role

As a Group Ex Instructor I, you'll lead engaging group exercise sessions at our Crown Point branch in Lake County. Compensation begins at $15.00 per hour and increases with experience. This position is brand-new-instructor friendly: we provide full training so you can become certified to teach Mossa group fitness formats and confidently guide participants of all abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead motivating, music-driven group exercise classes for members of varying fitness levels.
• Encourage and support participants, helping them stay engaged and progress toward healthier living.
• Deliver Mossa-format workouts following the training and certification provided by the Y.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment in every session.
• Champion the YMCA's mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Qualifications

• No previous group fitness instruction experience required—training is provided.
• Enthusiasm for music, movement, and motivating others toward their wellness goals.
• A positive, people-first attitude and reliable availability for a full-time schedule.
• Willingness to complete Mossa training and obtain the necessary certification.
