Plant Manager

Lead day-to-day operations at one of Colorado's most advanced peaking facilities. NAES is hiring a full-time Plant Manager in Keenesburg, Weld County, to oversee the Mountain Peak Power Plant and keep flexible, on-demand power flowing to the region.

About the Role

As Plant Manager, you will hold overall accountability for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Mountain Peak Power Plant — a natural gas-fired peaking station built to serve United Power's electric cooperative. The facility produces 162 megawatts of dispatchable electricity through six GE Vernova LM2500XPRESS aeroderivative gas turbines, playing a central role in grid stability and meeting peak demand across the area. This is an on-site leadership position based in Keenesburg, Colorado.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of plant operations and maintenance to ensure dependable, on-demand power generation.
• Champion a strong safety culture and uphold environmental, regulatory, and compliance standards.
• Optimize turbine performance and overall facility availability to support grid reliability.
• Lead, develop, and coordinate the on-site team across operations and maintenance functions.
• Manage budgets, performance targets, and operational reporting for the facility.
• Partner with United Power and NAES stakeholders to align plant output with peak demand needs.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience managing a power generation facility, ideally a gas-fired or peaking plant.
• Working knowledge of gas turbine technology, such as aeroderivative units like the GE Vernova LM2500XPRESS.
• Strong grounding in safety, environmental compliance, and industry regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, control budgets, and drive operational performance.
• Willingness to work full-time and on-site in Keenesburg, Weld County, Colorado.
