About the Role

This full-time Medical Technologist position is based in the laboratory at Jersey City Medical Center (Lab JCMC) and is scheduled on the night shift. As an hourly team member, you will perform analytical testing across clinical laboratory disciplines, helping physicians and care teams make confident, well-informed decisions. The anticipated pay range for this role is $37.56 to $50.55 per hour for work performed in New Jersey, with final compensation determined by several factors relevant to the selected candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out clinical laboratory testing on patient specimens using established procedures and instrumentation.
• Review, interpret, and report test results accurately and within expected turnaround times.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Follow quality control, quality assurance, and safety protocols to ensure reliable outcomes.
• Document results and maintain records in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with laboratory and clinical staff to support coordinated, patient-centered care during the night shift.

Qualifications

• Education and credentials consistent with a Medical Technologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist role, as required by New Jersey and applicable regulatory standards.
• Hands-on experience with clinical laboratory testing, instrumentation, and quality control practices.
• Strong attention to detail, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to work accurately under deadlines.
• Availability to work the night shift on an hourly basis at Jersey City Medical Center.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced laboratory team.
