About the Role

As a Multimedia Journalist I with KIMA-TV in Union Gap, you'll be part of an award-winning news team covering the stories that matter to the Yakima County community. This is a true field position rather than a desk assignment: you'll chase leads, capture footage, write scripts, edit packages, and deliver finished reports yourself. We're looking for someone energetic, deadline-focused, and genuinely eager to learn and sharpen their craft on the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, report, and produce original news content for broadcast and digital platforms
• Shoot your own video in the field and edit it into compelling, accurate stories
• Write clear, engaging scripts and copy on tight daily deadlines
• Present and deliver stories across television, web, and social channels
• Pursue fresh angles, break news, and cultivate reliable local sources
• Juggle multiple assignments while maintaining strong journalistic standards

Qualifications

• A talented storyteller with a strong news sense and natural curiosity
• Skilled at multitasking and consistently meeting deadlines under pressure
• Comfortable shooting, writing, editing, and presenting your own content
• Self-motivated, creative, and driven to grow within a fast-paced newsroom
• Willing to work on-site in Union Gap, Yakima County (this role is not remote)
