The University of Pennsylvania is hiring a full-time Assistant Director of Facilities to help oversee and maintain its physical environment at the William Penn Annex East in Philadelphia County. This on-site leadership role is ideal for an experienced facilities professional ready to support one of the region's premier academic institutions.

About the Role

As Assistant Director of Facilities at the University of Pennsylvania, you will provide day-to-day operational leadership for facility services at the William Penn Annex East. Working closely with the facilities management team, you will help ensure that buildings, grounds, and systems remain safe, functional, and well cared for in support of the university's teaching, research, and administrative needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in directing the operation, upkeep, and improvement of campus facilities and building systems.
  • Coordinate routine and preventive maintenance to keep spaces fully operational.
  • Support supervision of facilities staff, contractors, and service vendors.
  • Help monitor compliance with safety codes, regulations, and university standards.
  • Contribute to budgeting, planning, and resource allocation for facility projects.
  • Respond to operational issues and service requests in a timely, organized manner.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in facilities management, building operations, or a closely related field.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance practices, building systems, and applicable safety standards.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a busy, on-site institutional setting.
  • Availability to work full-time at the William Penn Annex East in Philadelphia County (this position is not remote).
