Research Scientist-Center for Psychiatric Genetics

Endeavor Health is hiring a full-time Research Scientist for its Center for Psychiatric Genetics (CPG) in Evanston, Cook County, Illinois — a chance to advance the genetic and functional understanding of psychiatric conditions through rigorous, lab-based science.

About the Role

As a Research Scientist at the Center for Psychiatric Genetics, you will contribute to a research program focused on applying functional approaches to uncover the biological mechanisms underlying psychiatric disorders. This is an on-site position based in Evanston, IL, working a Monday–Friday schedule with flexible hours where available.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and carry out laboratory experiments that support the Center's psychiatric genetics research goals.
• Apply functional and genetic methodologies to investigate the biological basis of psychiatric conditions.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility of results.
• Maintain detailed and organized records of research protocols, findings, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with principal investigators, fellow scientists, and research staff across ongoing studies.
• Contribute to manuscripts, presentations, and grant-related materials as needed.

Qualifications

• Background and training in genetics, molecular biology, neuroscience, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with experimental design and functional research techniques.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with research data.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple experiments simultaneously.
• Effective written and verbal communication, plus the ability to work well within a collaborative research team.
• Willingness to work on-site in Evanston, Cook County, on a full-time basis.
