About the Role
As a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher with Madison Public Schools, you will step into a temporary assignment based at the Dr. Robert H. Brown School. This certified Student Support Services position begins on August 24, 2026, and you will be responsible for maintaining instructional continuity for students enrolled in special education programming during the duration of the assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth of students with diverse learning needs.
- Adapt lessons, materials, and assessments to accommodate a range of abilities.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, families, and related service providers.
- Track student progress and contribute to documentation and reporting requirements.
- Foster an inclusive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Valid certification to teach Special Education.
- Eligibility to serve as a certified Student Support Services educator.
- Experience supporting students with individualized learning plans is an asset.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to equitable, student-centered instruction.
