About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site Lifeguard/Swim Instructor position based in New York City, New York. You will divide your time between two essential duties: watching over our pool to keep everyone safe, and leading swim lessons for individuals and groups across all ages and skill levels. It's an ideal fit for someone who is equal parts attentive guardian and patient, encouraging teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep a constant, focused watch over the pool and surrounding deck to safeguard the well-being of every swimmer.
- Apply and uphold pool rules consistently and fairly to maintain a secure environment.
- Plan and deliver swim instruction for one-on-one students and group classes, adapting lessons to a wide range of ages and abilities.
- Respond promptly and calmly to emergencies, providing rescue and first-aid support as needed.
- Help foster a positive, friendly, and engaging atmosphere for members and guests using the facility.
Qualifications
- A reliable, enthusiastic attitude and a genuine commitment to swimmer safety.
- Lifeguard certification along with the rescue, CPR, and first-aid readiness the role requires.
- Confidence teaching swim technique to beginners through advanced students of all ages.
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to stay composed under pressure.
- Availability to work full-time, on-site at our New York City location.
