Seymour Public Schools is seeking an experienced, organized educator to serve as the Coordinator of Extended School Year Program 2026, a full-time, districtwide leadership role supporting special education students across the district during the summer term in the United States.
About the Role
As the Coordinator of the Extended School Year (ESY) Program 2026, you will lead and oversee Seymour Public Schools' summer special education programming, which runs from July 1, 2026 through August 6, 2026. This position carries a 165 certification requirement, and all planning and preparation are completed outside of the regular school day. You will ensure that eligible students receive the services outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) throughout the summer session.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise the districtwide Extended School Year Program for the 2026 summer term.
- Gather, organize, and review all student IEPs to confirm the services each learner is entitled to receive.
- Arrange and schedule appropriate supports and staffing to deliver mandated services accurately.
- Complete program preparations, logistics, and administrative tasks outside of standard school hours.
- Communicate with families, staff, and district leadership to keep the program running smoothly from July 1 through August 6, 2026.
Qualifications
- Valid 165 certification, as required for this position.
- Demonstrated experience working within and coordinating an extended school year or comparable special education program.
- Strong knowledge of IEPs, mandated services, and special education compliance.
- Excellent organizational, scheduling, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage preparation and planning independently outside of the school day.
