E&O Sr. Underwriter

Vault Risk Management Services is seeking an experienced E&O Sr. Underwriter to join our Chicago, Cook County team and help drive smart, profitable errors and omissions coverage for commercial clients nationwide.

About the Role

As an E&O Sr. Underwriter at Vault Risk Management Services, you will own complex errors and omissions accounts from submission through binding, applying seasoned judgment to evaluate risk, price coverage, and structure terms. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Chicago, Cook County, where you will collaborate closely with brokers and internal partners to deliver tailored solutions and unlock value for our commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, price, and underwrite professional liability and errors and omissions (E&O) submissions within established authority.
• Analyze exposures, loss history, and account data to make sound, profitable risk decisions.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers and distribution partners.
• Negotiate coverage terms, conditions, and pricing while supporting portfolio growth and quality.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less-experienced underwriting colleagues.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to refine appetite, guidelines, and service standards.

Qualifications

• Proven senior-level underwriting experience, ideally within errors and omissions or professional lines.
• Strong analytical and risk-evaluation skills with sound, independent decision-making.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-management abilities with brokers and partners.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working on-site in Chicago, Cook County in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
