Lead Transmission Line Engineer

Leidos is hiring a Lead Transmission Line Engineer in Mason, Warren County, to spearhead high-voltage transmission projects that keep critical energy infrastructure running safely and reliably.

About the Role

As a Lead Transmission Line Engineer with Leidos, you will direct the engineering and delivery of both overhead and underground transmission line projects within the Energy & Utilities sector. Based in Mason, Warren County, this full-time, on-site position places you at the center of designing dependable, cost-conscious solutions for utility providers and operators of essential infrastructure. You will set technical direction, coordinate across disciplines, and help shape the next generation of engineering talent on the Engineering & Design team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and execution of overhead and underground transmission line projects from concept through completion.
• Deliver safe, reliable, and economically sound engineering solutions for utility and critical infrastructure clients.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to keep designs aligned and on schedule.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, sharing technical expertise and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs meet client requirements, industry codes, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing overhead and/or underground transmission line systems.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and guide projects through delivery.
• Strong working knowledge of transmission line engineering principles, applicable standards, and safety practices.
• Experience mentoring and supporting the growth of less-experienced engineers.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for coordinating across multiple disciplines.
