Backend Developer [eCommerce]

This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable Shopify applications, automating critical business workflows, and ensuring the platform’s security, stability, and performance. This individual is a systematic problem-solver who designs robust and efficient solutions to complex e-commerce challenges.

Accountabilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify apps and backend systems.

• Work with Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL), webhooks, and middleware integrations.

• Build integrations with payment gateways, shipping, ERP, CRM, and inventory systems.

• Automate workflows like order syncing, pricing updates, and data migrations.

• Manage scalable, secure, and accurate data flow across platforms.

• Optimize backend performance, reliability, and security.

• Debug complex integration and API-related issues.

• Support analytics and tracking integrations such as GA4 and GTM.

• Collaborate with product, frontend, and business teams, including AI-driven product initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, customize, and maintain Shopify apps and backend systems.

• Work on Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL), integrations, middleware, and automation workflows.

• Integrate third-party systems like payment gateways, shipping, inventory, ERP, and CRM platforms.

• Manage data flow, scalability, security, and performance across eCommerce systems.

• Handle debugging, issue resolution, migrations, and backend optimizations.

• Support analytics and tracking setup using GA4, GTM, and related tools.

• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and business teams, including contributing to AI-driven product initiatives.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 3–5+ years of backend/full-stack development experience, preferably in eCommerce.

• Strong Shopify backend experience with APIs, webhooks, app development, and integrations.

• Hands-on experience with Node.js (preferred), Python, Ruby, or PHP.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), databases, CI/CD, and microservices.

• Good understanding of API security, scalability, debugging, and DevOps practices.

• Familiarity with GA4, GTM, and analytics/event tracking setups.

• Strong problem-solving, ownership, and collaboration skills.
