The Role
We’re looking for a Technical Audio Designer to bridge the gap between sound design and engineering. In this role, you’ll own the implementation and technical execution of audio systems, ensuring our games deliver deeply immersive, reactive, and polished soundscapes.
You’ll work closely with sound designers, gameplay engineers, and technical teams to build scalable audio systems, refine pipelines, and push the emotional impact of our horror experiences through audio.
What You’ll Do
- Implement and own in-game audio using Unreal Engine’s built-in audio stack.
- Design and maintain interactive audio systems (adaptive music, environmental audio, tension systems, etc.)
- Build and refine tools, templates, and workflows that improve audio iteration and efficiency
- Partner with engineering to integrate audio systems and solve technical challenges
- Tune spatial audio, occlusion, and environmental effects for immersive gameplay
- Optimize audio performance, memory usage, and scalability across platforms
- Debug and troubleshoot audio issues throughout development
- Help define and document best practices for audio implementation
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in technical sound design or audio implementation in games
- Strong experience with Unreal Engine’s native audio and Metasound Systems
- Solid understanding of interactive audio systems and real-time implementation
- Experience working closely with both creative and engineering teams
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with mixing for atmospheric horror projects
Nice to Have
- Experience shipping at least one game title
- Basic scripting or programming knowledge (Blueprints, C++, or Python)
- Background in sound design, music production, or audio post-production
- Experience working on horror or atmospheric games
- Familiarity with console and multi-platform development constraints
- Experience creating or maintaining audio pipelines
- Strong Sound Design background.
