We are seeking a dedicated Steel Fixer to join our Foundations TL team on our Central-West Orana REZ Transmission Project. As a Steel Fixer, you will be responsible for placing, fixing, and tying steel reinforcement to structural drawings and engineering specifications to support major transmission infrastructure works.
Requirements
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, bar bending schedules, and structural specifications
- Cut, bend, and tie reinforcing steel (reo) to required shapes and sizes
- Place and secure steel reinforcement for concrete foundations, footings, slabs, and structural elements
- Install rebar, mesh, couplers, and other reinforcement systems in accordance with project requirements
- Ensure correct positioning, spacing, cover, and alignment of reinforcement prior to concrete pours
- Work closely with formwork carpenters, concreters, supervisors, and engineers to deliver high-quality foundation works
- Maintain compliance with all site safety procedures and quality standards
