Role Overview

The Port Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of facility vehicles and equipment, including forklifts, cars, trucks, engines, motors, pneumatic systems, conveyors, hydraulics, and related machinery. This role also provides maintenance and repair support for fishing vessels on site, as needed.

What You Will Do

Maintain and repair a wide range of automotive, marine, hydraulic, and industrial equipment, inspect gas, diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and perform repairs as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Port Engineer or Rolling Stock Mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of operating, maintaining, and repairing gas and diesel engines
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical documentation
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Experience with extended boom forklifts and cranes
  • General metal fabrication and welding skills
  • Working knowledge of basic hydraulics
  • Experience with Caterpillar generator sets (Cat Gensets)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
