Senior Accountant (F&B)

Job Purpose:

The Senior Accountant oversees the general accounting operations of Home Bakery subsidiaries across the Middle East, with specific focus on the general ledger and procure to pay cycles.

The position reports to the accounts manager and is the most senior person in the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Supervision: Support month-end and year-end close process and ensure that the books, records, and accounts are maintained accurately
• Monthly submission of reporting packages at entity and group level
• Cash flow forecasting and monthly variance analysis
• Financial Statement Preparation and audit support to ensure statutory compliance
• Procure to Pay Cycle: as procurement business partner and SAP PO key user, closely working with the functional department heads and financial controller to coordinate month end accruals
• Assist with VAT audits and returns
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures leading to the implementation of corporate income tax
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional Certification such as CPA, preferred.

Experience:

• Proven experience of 5 years as an accountant, preferably within the F&B sector or a similar fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Knowledge of accounting procedures and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• SAP knowledge and Arabic speaker is a plus
